Paint, like stain, is colour that can be added to the finishing process. Although the difference is that paint is not absorbed by the wood, rather is a layer that coats the wood.
Paint creates a clean and streamline look to be paired with a prominent wood grain or to stand on its own.
Glazing is a specialty finish where an additional coat of product is added to the colour before the protective layer. This can be added to both stained and painted pieces, and comes in various colours.
This adds texture and contrast to the unit while keeping it smooth to the touch. Depending on the type of wood the effect varies.
Rub-through is a specialty finish that is a multiple step colour process where more them one colour is applied and then worn down to reveal the layers and create an aged look.
Two Tone is where you have a combination of any two colours with any of the finishing selections, paired to create contrast and accent different parts of the finished product.

Wormy Maple has a unique character created by holes bored by worms during growth, this creates a contrast in the colour and grain.
Maple has a beautiful smooth grain that look good in any space.
Oak is recognized by its distinctive grain, the high contrast and arches make it add visual texture to any piece.
Cherry has a comparable grain to Maple but it has a beautiful rich colour to set it in its own category.
Pine while a soft wood its grain and knots make it perfect for a rustic design.
